Marina’s Gary Wilmot is running for mayor. He’s also running a free
newspaper– in which the content sometimes blurs the line between
community newsletter and campaign propaganda.
Vocal Minority - Former councilman tries to upset the Marina political establishment – again.
A few months ago Bruce Delgado cut up and trashed his campaign signs from 2004– when he narrowly lost the Marina mayoral race to Ila Mettee-McCutchon. Since then, the environmentalist has been absent from city politics.
“I had no intention of getting back into politics this time around,” he says.

Bruce Delgado is running for Marina’s mayoral post. Delgado, a former councilman who narrowly lost to former mayor Ila Mettee-McCutchon in 2004, will challenge current Marina Mayor Gary Wilmot. Also fighting to keep their appointed seats are Nancy Amadeo and Jim Ford, who will take on council hopefuls David Burnett, Michael Derr, Peter Le and Frank O’Connell. Two weeks ago we reported how the fledgling Marina Democratic Club was fielding candidates for local races.
